CENG 200 Introduction to Computers and Fortran Programming

Course Description:
Introduction to computers and programming. Elements of Fortran, type and length specifications. Assignment statements, arithmetic and logical expressions, library functions. Control statements and DO loops. Arrays and subscripted variables. Subprograms.

None.

Faruk Tokdemir, Programming with FORTRAN77, Ankara 1993.

Course Objectives:
To introduce the concepts of computers, algorithms, programming and Fortran programming language to non-majors.

3.Elements of Fortran - 3 weeks
4.Control Statements and Loops - 2 weeks
5.DO Loops - 2 weeks
6.Arrays and Subscripted Variables - 3 weeks
7.Subprograms - 2 weeks

Class/Laboratory Schedule:
The course has three lecture hours and two laboratory hours. The duration of each lecture and lab hour is 50 minutes.

No homework, no quizzes, no projects are given.

Laboratory Work: There are 11 lab sessions.
